i went four wheelin tonight with 2 of my friends that have jeeps, of course i had to show them up with my ford. I went into a deep mud hole and got stuck and water came up to my doors. i made it out, i had to back out of the hole but it made it out without being towed and made it home no problem (my friend with the jeep was stuck in the same hole a week ago and had to be towed out). the only problem is now when i try to start my truck my starter spins extremly fast and everytime i try to start the truck the starter spins faster and faster. Now i know that my day tomorrow is gonna consist of changing the oil, tranny gear oil, differential oil, and the atf in the transfer case. i am also gonna take my front lockers off and clean them out and pull all four wheels to make sure there is nothing in the brakes. my real question is, why is my starter spinning so fast now and is there anything i need to do to this truck that i am not thinking of.
btw i also learned tonight to never take you ignition key off your ring. i accidentally dropped my key in the mud hole and it took 20 min to find my key in the mud and water, i still have no idea how my friend actully found it.
Geez, as much work as you're about to get into, I think I'd stay on the asphalt. But that's just me. I think the starter is full of moisture (and mud). Not good for an electric motor.
