What z-bars can I use?

I finally got everything straightened out as far as hooking up the clutch. Unfortunately the z-bar and rods I had from an 80 3/4 ton didnt fit...too long. So what all vehicles can I get a correct length z-bar etc from? Just 73-79? Is there any difference for a z-bar for my 390 and one from a 351 truck?

All I have to say is good luck. I used about different ones from the 73-79 era, and it has taken some mixing and matching to get it right. I am still not really done. The rod that goes from the z linkage to the clutch fork is a little too short. Today I was out brainstorming, and decided to use the leftover rod from a leaf spring centering pin to make the threaded adjustment rod. It is long enough, and uses the same threads as the original. I had been toying with the idea of a hyd conversion because of this nightmare. Hopefully this will fix it and then I can be done with it. In answer to your question, you may have to mix and match, and then still get creative. I would think any 73-79 setup would work, but my truck is living proof that isn't so. Good luck, Ted
