cracked head

I have a 1999 Explorer 4.0L OHV. At 90,000 miles I noticed it was using antifreeze. When I took it to the ford dealer they had taken it appart and found both heads had cracked. Ford replaced both heads even though it was out of warranty. I think they knew there was some kind of problem with the heads.
