hey all i have a neon sign that i got from a friend....one of the glass tubes is broken so tyhe gas is gone and it wont ignite.....but i am wondering if there is any other positive use for one of these ignitors before i toss it to the curb
another neon tube....they are pretty cheap if you find a custom place who will blow the neon in the shape or words you want....other than that they are pretty useless...unless you like shocking yourself then its of use.
No use for the ignitor but I'd set that transformer up with a couple of stainless rods and make a Jacob's Ladder . . . looks like something out of a horror movie.
Hey pancake! I want to set up a vacuum bench in my shop and build my own neon signs. None of the local hardware stores sell transformers for signs, and I'm in the "parts collection" stage of the "sign-building hobby". Since you're thinking of throwing it away, would you consider selling the transformer to me for, say ten bucks?FTE wont allow me to post my email address here, and there is a way for you to get it (or for me to send it to you, but I forget where the instructions were) Thanks.
ive tried to contact you but i get messages that say you wish not recieve emails from the sitre and that you dont recieve private messages either
i emailed the staff here to help me but i havent heard back yet
I don't know if it may be my security settings or not, I'll try to find out by experimenting with my computer, it sure seems to have alot of bells&whistles on it, though. I think it has something to do with my address book....
Up at the top click User CP, then click Edit Options. If you scroll down there will be a couple boxes to check. (Just now I assumed mine were unchecked - I always keep it checked for admin, but it wasn't this time...)
I have a transformer out of a neon sign, but I'm not giving it up.
