Anybody having problems with their truck getting broken into mine has been broken into twice since I've had it I have a 2002 f350 crewcab. They are getting in by putting something in the key hole on the front doors and prying them to the side and unlocking the door this also breaks the door handle and puts a small dent around the handle anybody have any solutios to this problem?
Add a button to your keyless entry (if you have one) that adds an electrical charge to the whole truck, and fries anyone who touches it, you know about 100,000 volts.
you have keyless entry? remove the lock cylinder ... or the whole handle and put releases on the doors. would a steel door handle help with this?
and a few more jerk responses ....
1. flamethrower under the rocker panel hooked to alarm
2. big ole dog named bubba
3. garage
in all seriousness, it sounds like the same person, i woudl find out who it is somehow .. and seriously beat them like they deserve ... there is nothing as bad as messing with another mans truck IMO
Whatever they are doing to the door / door handle to get into the truck is probably just as easy as breaking the window, most likely just quieter. If they want into the truck, they will get into the truck. An alarm will probably only discourage a few thefts, but not the determined/desparate ones.
Are you leaving valuables in the truck? If somebody sees something valuable in the truck or, even worse, knows you have something valuable (stereo, etc...) they will grab it fast and run. A friend of mine had his truck window broken into and half of thier wedding gift stolen, just 30' in front of the main entrance to a resturant in Denver. Nobody saw it happen. Don't leave valuables in your truck overnight and keep shopping bags, luggage, etc.... out of sight if possible. Do you have privacy glass / tinted windows?
How much did it cost to repair the door? I know you don't want to hear this, but it might have been cheaper than replacing the window.
Thanks for the advice I really like the one with the 100,000 volts I thought about that when my wife came home and told me about the breakins. Yes both times it was broke into something was on the back seat pictures my wife had bought and my sons personal cd player the truck was in different places both times. It didn't cost much to fix just a new door handle I pulled most of the dent out by hand you can still see it a little but I can live with it . Oh well I just wanted to put out a line and see if this was a common way theives were breaking in these trucks and if anybody had a fix.
