Question NEW SD...What would you do differently??

It makes me sick, and my father would roll over in his grave, but I'm considering switching to diesel. My current rig is an 02 F350 CC 4x4 V10, auto. I find myself not traveling as much, and when I do, it's 30 mile minimum trips, and I'm generally towing my boat/trailer combo. Seems like a more appropriate use for a diesel....especially looking at fuel prices nowadays!!

My dillema is this: my current rig is a Lariat...with every single option offered at the time of production. My wife (yes, my wife) bought it off the showroom floor in a local dealership....I didn't think ANYONE ever bought the rigs that sat on the showroom floor!!

So, now I'm spoiled with all the neat gadgets. Now, they've added adjustable pedals and moonroof. The moonroof would be nice, have one in the car.

What would you like to have (or not have) on your vehicle that you don't (or do) now?

kh.

I can't speak for everyone, but I would have to stay with the V10. But, this time I would go for the auto tranny with manual shift transfer case.

All the other gadgets would just get in my way - I expect.

My $.02

Get the diesel and get past the gadgets and moonroof, I say, unless you like leaning the way of the Street Queen Chebby's?

Seriously though, check out what kind of deal you can get for the diesel and see if it's really worth the cost. Then, if the diesel is do-able and you want it.... GET IT!

No better feeling than driving the truck you WANT to be in, and NOT having to change your plans, outtings, etc due to the price of fuel.

My $.02 as well,
DS

I think I would stay away from a moonroof depending on how long you plan on keeping it. Every one I have ever had from my volkswagon bug to my cabriolet has leaked at some point.

Why would you do something to make yourself sick?

The extra $$$ for the PSD sure would pay for a lot of gas in a V10.

The only thing I wanted and didn't get when I was looking for my truck was the heated tow mirrors. I guess if I really want them bad enough, it not all that difficult of a swap.

I ordered my 04 F350 just how I wanted it (within the available options) so I would not do anything differently; however I would have liked Ford to offer 4.10 or 4.30 gears with limited slip in the 6.0 , 6spd, SRW truck and I wish they would not have deleted the 15k hitch I ordered and then replaced with 12.5k.

Drive the 6.0...my guess you'll be buying one shortly there after!

Get it all

I just traded in my 2001 F-250 Lariat (CC, 4x2, Leather, v-10) for a brand new F-350 Lariat 4x4 PSD with all the options (no moonroof though). I love the new truck. I am with you though as far as getting all the extras and I won't buy a vehicle without them now. I plan to keep this truck till the wheels fall off so I wanted to make sure it had everything I might want.

I just bought a 2004 F250 CC short bed with a 6 liter diesel, auto trans, manual transfer case and lariat trim. I would have liked to have the moon roof. aside from that, this truck rocks. I traded in a '02 with a v10. the diesel is far better. more power= more fun.
