I have searched through this forum and have been unable to find anybody with the same type of problem that I have.
Once the Transmission is warmed up the problems begin.
1st Problem > When shifting into OD or 4th Gear it shifts really hard and jolts the whole truck
2nd Problem > Sometimes while I am driving along at 50-60 miles per hour and recently at slower speeds the transmission starts to downshift and will not stay in a gear for very long. It feels like it is hunting for the right gear even though it is in the correct gear.
3rd Problem > When you start from a stop it begins in 1 st gear and immediately jumps to second and then right back down to 1st. It does the same thing from 2nd to 3rd. It does not matter whether it is a hard start or a slow start.
Dump the PCM codes. Trying to diagnose an ailing E4OD without them is pointless. You buy a code scanner that has the code book for under $20 for a '94.
I had the transmission checked out and the only code that was pulled was from the gear shift lever. I am assuming that was the problem. They cleared the code.
