I have seen the 30 day time period in the farmers almanac. I am bucking the system though. I raised mine back up after Pres. Reagan was layed to rest. When he died, my Flag came down and was raised all the way up and then back to half staff, I don't like seeing my flag at half staff. I was 18 when Reagan became my first choice for President and I voted for him. He made the Navy that I served in stronger, and I thought he was OK. I just won't lower the Flag any longer than I feel is necessary.

Nixon didn't exactly leave office under the best of circumstances. Resign or be Impeached.

Yup. 'Cording to my "Winning the Board" book (it's got all kinds of wierd trivia in it..like: SUPPOSEDLY in the truck of the main flag pole on a military post, there is a bullet, a razor and a match..) the flag will be flown at half-staff for 30 days after the death of a President or former holder of the office.

I wonder if CA has any different thoughts on that, him being a former governor and all.

Each President ( or their family) plans their own funeral and is supposed to have a written plan turned in within, I believe, 1 year of them leaving office. Guess who hasn't turned his in yet.

Clinton hasn't turned his in according to the news coverage during Reagan's funeral coverage. Bush #41 has. Bush #43's isn't due for another four years + one.
