Question 94 crown vic

I just got a single stage diablo premium gas chip for my vic and was wondering what the options were that you were able to set, like the limiters? The code is A4J2.

Also I'm about to get some 3.55 gears, headers, and some cams. I'm going to get the headers and gears pretty soon, but the cams in the next year or so. How should I go about getting the chip burned for them? What exactly do you change in the program to compensate for gears, headers and cams?

Do you think it would be alright to leave my ecm connected to the harness, but unplug the battery when I take it out? I really dont want to unplug the harness again.....

thanks!

The limiters raised, shift strategy optimized, shift firmness increased, etc. Basically, the standard stuff.

Nothing is done for the gears, your speedometer is not directly computer controlled (its changed via a speedometer pickup gear changed). Cams require different fuel timing if they aren't mild change. Headers, if they are long tube, require shutting off the check engine light and richening up the a/f ratio a tad. No, you don't have to unplug the harness, or even the battery for that matter. Those are precautionary steps but so long as you don't have the keys in the ignition you can remove/install the chip at any time.

The headers are shorties so I wont have to worry about those....

I was going to get these mild street cams from compcams...
http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Cu...HTML/66-67.asp

so I probably wont have to worry about those either..

thanks!

another quick question...
When I reset the ecm is there a specific steps to follow while the computer is re-learning? Do I just drive normally?

Also what if I get some 3.73 gears instead of 3.55's.
My factory gears are 3.08's and I was told that if you go over 2 steps you need a reburn?

thanks

admin?

or 4.10's? Will I have problems with shift points with either 3.73's or 4.10's?

When you reset, just drive as your normally do. No reburn is needed for the gears, the speedo pickup, etc., is not driving off the computer for a 1994, its driven off a tranny gear.

Sorry I asked you the same question twice when you answered it the first time...
I thought that I'd need a re-burn to get the shifts right when changing gears so I dont bounce off the rev limiter. After your second post I assume you cant change any of that on my old eec-iv and since my rev limiter has been raised I shouldnt have to worry about it anyways..

Speaking of custom burns...I just read your FAQ page again and seen that you need a custom burn if you have an h or x pipe installed. I have an h-pipe, does this apply to my car?

I'm going to get a larger MAF anyways so I will need a re-burn soon.

How do I go about sending in my chip for a reburn? Any return authorizations required? Whats your address?

Thanks for all your help!

And also a larger throttle body?...
I apologize for all the questions.

Shift points can be changed with EEC-IV. Speedometer reading can't.

Yes, it its setting off the check engine light.

Correct. TB information needs to be on the custom programming sheet as well.

Call 770-736-7122. Those questions can be handled by the customer service
