This weekend I'll be installing my Hooker Long-tube headers on my 89 f150 4x4, along with replacing all of the gaskets and anything else that is worn out on my motor. I know for a fact that I'm going to get back some lost power, the vehicle has 168000 miles on it. What should be the next mod? I want the best bang for buck mod I can do.

So far the only mod to the motor will be the headers, I have a detroit truetrack getting the power to the ground w/ 3.55 gears. I use this truck as a daily driver. I think I want to do what this person did http://bjoern.brembs.net/cars/maf_conversion/. I like how he used the tb off of a 2000 lightning. I would probably instead of going with a stock computer, get a performance computer, or at least have a chip burned for me.

Heads I'm sure would make a big difference as well, and would compliment the headers nicely. I don't know too much about them so I'm not even sure about the labor involved.

A cam would be good too. Now over at summit there are a couple cams that I'm considering. I just don't know what to expect. I want to keep the truck streetable for now so nothing too crazy, but I don't mind having a rough idle. Just as long as I get a lot of low-end torque. What do you think of the lunati truck avenger cam? And should I get a cam with new lifters or just by them seperately?

My truck is my daily driver that I take wheeling on the weekends, so I want a lot of low end grunt but halfway decent highway manners. It's got the t-18 so the lack of od doesn't help, I've been getting around 12-14 mpg and if any mods will increase the gas mileage then that's what I'll do. Thanks!
