picked up my excurison !! last week and i havent drive that much due to the gas price.. today was beatiful day so i decide to take it out for a spin and hooked up my trailer and drove around the town.. awesome ! im feeling like its not even back of my truck !! ha
so i decide to let the air out today open all windows and open the rear vent windows with automatic thing button on upper center console ..
just before i went to go bed.. everything closed expect the right rear vent window wont shut close.. it wont make a noise or grind any noise.. it just stay open !
does anyone have a problem with it ? how do i maunal close it ?
thanks.. i do have warrenty on it. but want to make sure its little stupid thing that can be fix before going to ford dealership...
yesterday...i was working outside and i had to go to home depot to pick up 30 bricks.. so i took the 02 X trucks with stuck rear vent ..drove it on on main road and i decided.. what the heck.. i press the button and viola !!!! it came back close ! so im not gonna messed around with the button again until it get back to the dealership !!!!!!!!!!!!
werid ???? well. as long it close and keep the theif away and rain im happy !!!
Yeah, mine will stick, but usually playing with it gets it to work...
Guess it's a contact point that locks up for a bit and then heating/cooling/vibration frees it ??????
My rear vent windows will occasionally not open. If I flip the switch back and forth a few times, it will work. I need to address this issue with the dealership but fear it will be one of those infamous "unable to reproduce condition, no problem found" issues.
I just purchased my 2000 Excursion 4x4 Limited a couple weeks ago. Right after I got it, the right rear power vent window quite working. Even though it is wayyyyyyy out of warrantee, and even though I didn't purchase an extended warrantee through F&I (I wanted too, but it was to freaking expensive), the dealership will be fixing mine on their nickle. It goes in for service this coming Tuesday.
On mine, when the button is pushed, you can hear the servo or the connection clicking, but nothing activates.
hey blueexpend, i don't mean to be rude but learn some freakin' english
sorry about my english.. sign language is my first language, excuse for my english..
right now the X in the shop.. wait n see whats the news.. i also have a massive leak by my fusebox panel.. wondering if that short out the rear vent window..
they called and say they got the leak fixed.. and they r working on the rear vent window and button tomorrow..
well.. ill update the whole info for you guys tomorrow.
take care..
by the way.. im probably the only deaf in the forums
I have 00 ex. THE REAR VENT WINDOW WILL not open. I can hear it click but, the actuator or motor just will not operate. What other things did you guys do to unstuck this motor, this vent was working fine last week. I am thinking of removing the panel and see what I can unfreeze. How difficult is it to remove the panel and how?
One of mine was stuck closed for a while also just after purchase . Same thing, you could hear it trying from the drivers seat but it would not open . Tried a few days later, a real warm day, and it opened up . While opening though, you could hear the glass coming unstuck from the weatherstripping . Went back and checked, found the weatherstripping to be quite tacky . Cleaned off whatever it was and have had no problems since . Not saying this will cure everyones problem, just my two cents on the subject.
