Is the suspension light on the dashboard on ? on my 98 nav there is a suspension switch on the passenger side used by the tire shops when aligning the front end. It is to shut off/on the suspension. Also have you checked the fuses? Do you hear the compressor coming on? You will not hear an air leak if the compressor is not pumping air. When, how, what caused you to notice this. what was the time between: everthing was ok to this is not right?
I was driving and hit a little bump, nothing to be worried about, but then I heard a small bang then when I got to where I was going I noticed my rear end was low. I pulle off the panel in the back where I think the air compressor is and I can't hear it turning on when Istart up the car. But I check for a switch and the fuse, but I have a funny feeling that the compressor died. where would the switch be in the front or the back?
Sorry to hear about your Navigator. I think there are a few possibilities. Your Compressor failed, a line broke, or you have a blown fuse. I would not suspect a failed compressor as my first guess. More likely a line leak, or broken. Although you say you can't here the compressor running? Turn your ignition switch to the on possition without starting your Nav. Can you here it running? If not, check for a bad fuse. The fuse could have blown as a result of a broken line. A broken line would cause the compressor to continulally run to try to level the suspension. Once you have the compressor running, you should be able to trace down the leak. Hope this helps.
