Angry O2 sensor stuck

Figured it was about time to change it, so I do as Chilton's says to. Start the vehicle, let it warm up for a few minutes. Shut it off and loosen to sensor. Well, put a 7/8 crow's foot on a breaker bar and went to town on the sensor. It won, I couldn't budge it to save my life. Any idea's? I hate to think what would happen if I heated the pipes up and put WD-40 on them.

Lots of penetrating oil, and a torch.

I was real lucky. Mine popped right out with almost no effort.

Guys on this forum swear by PB Blaster penetrating oil. Soak it down every day for a week after driving and try again. Good luck.

This tip was posted by Hammerman3406 in another topic. It is a great idea.

The easiest and slickest way to deal with rusted-in bolts, regardless of where they are is as follows;
1. find a candle....yes, an ordinary candle from the kitchen drawer
2. get a torch. acetylene or mapp work best, but propane will do
3. heat the metal AROUND the offending bolt as hot as is practical.
4. feed the candle into the threads untill the wax quits melting
5. repeat 3&4 a couple of times
6. use an easy out or a pair of pliers (if a stub is left...)
I think that is a great tip!!

Try cutting off wire end and use 6 point 7/8 deep socket, still stubbard- heat with a torch, remember threads are the same as old large spark plugs - you may have to chase (clean up ) threads.

All you have to do is warm your truck up or drive it and as soon as the exhaust is hot (too hot to touch) you can easily remove it with a wrench. Remember, metal expands with heat and shrinks when cooled off.

Right, but when you heat it up by running the engine, you also heat up the sensor, making it just as hard to get out.
