2001 Expedition hooking up the amp

2001 Expedition hooking up the amp

I have a kenwood KAC-7285. The remote hookup is suppose to go to the power antena, but I don't have one, so what do I do?

That wire has to go to an ignition source. Find something that turns off when the ignition is turned off, and connect it to that fuse in the fuse box. Try the radio fuse.

Now if it's not hooked up, will that cause the amp not to get power even if you have the battery wire connected?

Yes. The amp has to have power to the internal switch to turn it on with the ignition. That internal switch is connected to the remote source.

That was it then! Thanks Man! I will let you know how it goes. Real quick, I printed out the breakdown of the audio wiring and they have a 12V+ Switched wire. Can I use that? There is a 12V+ Constant, but I think that one doesn't cut on and off with the radio.
