Hi Jason, I went to my local Ford dealer to try and order the white retainer clip and while Im sure they tried their best they can't seem to get me the right part. By any chance do you still know the part number ?
Sorry it took so long to reply, I've been on vacation and just got back today. I'm sorry I don't remember the part number. I think I took waht was left of the clip to the dealer and they were able to get the right one. I disposed of the packaging when I had to get the master cylinder. i didn't get the impression that it was an unusual part, they seemed to keep them in stock.
i had the same problem starting my truck, it turned out for me, it was just the plastic clip that holds the clutch pedel arm to the push rod, my worn out to the point where it fell off, the clutch went to the floor and i was stuck in 2nd. the plastic clip was only a dollar or two at the dealer, if this is the problem, look at the arm on the pedel where it attacks to the push-rod, the guys at the dealer told me if the bushing wears to that point chances are you need to replace it too.... i did, its an easy fix though, good luck, Matt

my haynes manual says its an easy adjustment to change it.
and if your dareing, but i dont recomend this, just jump the sensor iwth a paper clip so you can start it with the clutch out.
Jumping the switch is exactly what I would like to do. Can you explain in more detail exactly what wires and or switch needs to be jumped? When I looked under there it wasn't as obvious as I thought it would be. Thanks!
