Just bought a 2002 explorer and I absolutely love it. I want to replace the stock speakers...does anyone know how to remove the door panel? Help greatly appreciated.
Had the rear door panel off mine a few months ago trying to fix a rattle. There are 2 sheet metal screws at bottom of door panel. (visable). There is a screw hidden behind the power window switch panel. You have to remove the switch panel and the trim piece around the door open handle. Disconnect switch from harness. The entire door panel will slide straight up about an inch or so and come free. Word of caution. When prying the switch panel free from door be carefull to not break the plastic hook that holds the front of switch panel to door.
I'd like to know if anyone has figured out how to get the switch panel cover off without breaking the tab(s). What's the right way/location to start prying?
Maybe describing exactly where the tab is would help me.

OK folks I'd like to resurrect this old thread.....because I am in need of help.
I have noticed a very common communication technique that is a hindrance......to tell someone that it's easy or "just remove the trim" is of no value.......folks those ARE the specifics that we are asking!!!!
Please don't tell me it's simple if it was we would not need to post!
Ok enough now how about some pictures or a well worded summary of how to remove the power button panel and trim without busting up the tabs..........
Thanks folks I wasn't trying to get into a rant as much as provide some guidance for improving the communication process......now if I can sum it up .....it's ......HELP...!!!
'''Thanks
