Ok, the truth is, I dont know jack about paint....And The paint on my hood is ok...not fading to bad...some chips very "little" rust...its a 90 F-150...My question is Im wanting to maybe bring out some of the luster in the paint, w/o fudging it up too bad....what are some things i can do? wet sand maybe, polish it with a buffer...tried waxes, dont work too well....Im thinking ride like it is and buy an aftermarket ram air hood...Its just it looking bad up close....looks good far away...But anways, anybody done this or know what to do
<cr>
A mild polishing compound should help. My suggestion is to go the Meigiers (don't think that is spelled right) web site. They have excellent web and email support and should be able to fix you up with the right compound.
A 90's ford with paint still on the hood, consider yourself lucky. Most of them peel off. Striped in painted quite a few ford truck hoods back in the early 90's at the ford dealer I was working at.
