The Power Wagon looks interesting. 12,000# winch, lift, big tires (33s ?), and Hemi engine all standard. Wonder what differentials (lockers?) it comes with and whether you can get a stick. Kind of like a Dodge version of a Jeep Rubicon.
That is an excellent gear ratio, but what tranny is going to get the power to the axles? I have seen plenty of Dodges on 33s, and in the 1500 series, I have never seen one that can handle them without breaking an axle or losing a transmission. I wish Ford would make something more competitive, like a factory highboy again.
Dodge taking a 3/4 ton truck and putting power wagon badges on it is a joke. Does anybody know what an actual Power Wagon is?? it was a 1 ton 4x4 go anywhere truck built buy dodge. Read up on its specs at www.dodgepowerwagon.com. It had 5:83 ratio ( you can put on 42" tires stock without a lift!) with a flat head 6 and a 4 spd. it came optional with a PTO, MU-2 winch, belt pulley, you name it. not to be slamming the competition but ford or GM never came out with anything like this. It just angers me that dodge would do this to their heritage(where do you think the high hood and low fenders come from.
Look at what they did to the name Hemi! I wouldn't expect anything less from Dodge, a company that has to resort to names that they used decades ago just to sell vehicles to the uninformed public. You're right, though, Ford or GM either one never made anything comparable.
