I've got the 84 Ford F250 with the 460....I'm wondering how much the motor should shake whilst it's in gear but not moving. Just wondering if a lil shake is normal or not. Any replies are welcomed greatly, thank you much
Yeah most engines will shake side to side a little. The problem comes when it twists in the engine mounts more than a few inches. Then it might be a bad mount, which can cause problems with wiring, plumbing etc if the engine twists in it's cradle.
My 89 460 runs as smooth as a cadilac.I can balance a nickel on edge on the radiator.Stock and runnin corectly is should be real smooth.Thats the reason ford put these motors in the lincon so it would idle as smooth as a caddy and they do stock. If u have a cam or some other work i have seen em vibrate pretty good.
