I'm getting a very very slight but uniform shaking at a stop/idle. My RPMs are not surging or moving at all, but the truck gives a back and forth shake once every second or so. Its VERY slight and probably would go unnoticed by anyone who doesn't care about the truck as much as I do. Could this be motor mounts? Or a bad spark plug?
I'm also wondering if this has something to do with my high speed shake that I've been getting for the past couple months...
No, it's not a motor mount problem.Worn or broken mounts will normally show up when pulling out or on deceleration.Usually a clunk or banging noise. The shake sounds like a weak plug or wire. The uniformity you describe is pointing me to 1 cylinder were a vacuum leak or other problem would make it idle erraticly.Hope this helps.
Okay so you addressed two separate solutions there if I'm not mistaken. 1) Bad plug/wire, and 2) Vacuum leak near cylinder 1?? What does cylinder one have to do with vacuum leaks? Forgive my ignorance, I'm still learning.

Sorry Chris, my head sometimes overwhelms my **** poor (1 finger) typing skills. I was trying to say a vacuum leak will normally affect more than 1 cylinder and would be a lot more noticable. From your description it sounds like a weak plug or wire, which cylinder however I wouldn't even try to guess.
Okay, well I was planning on doing a tune-up soon anyway (wires, plugs, dist cap and rotor). I guess I'll make it sooner than later, maybe this weekend if I can get around to it. Thanks guys.
