Howdy all. I attempted to replace my intermitent wiper control and switch with a replacment, however they don't work. The truck originally came equiped with intermitent but they quit. The control box and switch were replaced with a basic switch and all workd well for years. Now in attemp to install a used control and intermitent switch all I get is a flicker of the interior lights... I put the regular switch back in with out the control and it works again.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Is there a way I can test my new/used control and switch?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I did not screw the ground wire afixed to the switch into place when I tested it but I did hold it against the medal frame for the dash making good contact and that is when the interior lights pulsed bright to dime but no wiper movement.
Thanx for the tip XLT70 Black, I tried again and screwed the ground to the medal part of the dash and still no wiper movement. The test light worked great using the dash as the ground but??? Any other ideas?
is the box you got for a 73 -79 or 80 up i cant remember if the 80 up will not work at all or if you have to delete-add a wire to make them work on the 73-79 models
I used a '86 Bronco switch and box on my '73, it worked great. The wipers worked just by plugging it together and attaching the ground. I did have to swap the washer wires to make it pump - but the wipers worked before I did that.
Thanks for the feed back.
I never thought of the washers.... I'll have to figure that out once the wipers are working.
According to a teck tip off this site, I believe it was said 73 to 88. It pluged right in the way it should, just like the old regular switch.
I am using a relay and switch off a 1986 F 150.
Is there a way to test the control and switch before I re-install?
Is there a simple way to check if it is working off the truck?

So much for FORD tough.
What would happen if I just use the switch without the relay box?
