460 engine trouble
I have an 87 ford with a 460. I don't drive the truck much and usually only light throttle. A few weeks ago I had need to use full throttle and it sputtered and fell on its face. Here is what happens. I have been pulling and plugging vacuum lines and today I replaced the fuel filter. Here is what happens and the same thing last time I tried it. You can start it and let it warm to normal on the gauge and it runs wonderful. I then did 18 full throttle runs to 4000 rpm and it ran wonderful with the back barrels opening as expected. I thought I had fixed the problem. As I got close to home I tried it once more and it stumbled. I shut if off and let it heat soak and then a retry and it would fall flat on its face with anything more than 1\2 throttle. With light throttle it runs perfect. I have ordered a new fuel pump and a carb kit. Any ideas? Also ignition has had most ( box, cap, rotor and coil) ignition parts changed.
