I decided to go out and have some fun last night, go to my favorite downtown spot to listen to music and hang out with friends, and when I cam e back out to my truck... Someone had torn the dash apart and stolen all of my stereo/ DVD equiptment. In a well lit garage, with two alams on this truck, someone just ripped right into it and took it all. Sad part is there is no video available around this area, so I have no clue who did it. I got the familiar chirp from the alam telling me It had gone off, but was silent when I got to it...
I'm so sad, I worked hard on this system.
I had a similiar incident happen a few years back. I had a 94 Toyota 4-Runner with an awsome sound system in it. I had it sitting in front of one of the parts houses here in town trying to sell it, when one night some not so nice ****** busted a window out and stole 3 amplifiers and 2 subs in a box. Luckily and for what reason I don't know, they didn't bother my head unit or all the speakers tucked away in the walls (probably too much trouble). Either way, I was just SOL, and had to pay for the window out of my own pocket.
I'm pretty sure the company that built the alarm got bought up and is no longer in business, I'm pretty sure that's the way I have to look at it for now.
It's amazing what someone can do to a outer locking mech with a flat head screwdriver...
As for all my personal belongings, I'm SOL, but the DVD player and monitor, are covered, I have to see a Adjuster tomorrow to see what he is going to give me for it all.
Super glue some double sided razor blades to your next deck. They work wonders on a criminals fingers, ideally right down to the bone. BTW, do you turn the music down long before entering a public parking area? No reason to advertise to crooks that you "sound" like a good target. Just my 2 cents worth; sorry to hear about the problem.
Yeah my bro had the same thing happen to him. I kept telling him not to have his music up loud but hes a knucklehead and didn't listen. I agree, don't promote to the neighborhood you have a killer system and your chances of getting robbed will drop dramatically.
The previous three comments are right , but you should not have to do that....
My bro (he lives in Calgary ) called me last week , his truck a Mazda was broken into , he had a gallon of oil in the back to do a service , well the guy did it for him .
He poured the gallon off oil all over the cab ...
Same dude went on up the road , broke into another truck , this guy was a painter , yup, he poured paint all over his cab ....
My Bro's truck was written off , not sure about the other one...
I know if i print the appropiate word for these guys id be banned from this forum .....
You work hard for little , and then some ______ takes it away .... makes me mad ..

I found out today that Allstate does NOT cover any sort of DVD player/ moniter system in a truck, because it is not mounted in a "factory" location, like the ceiling...
Instead they are purchasing me a new "top of the line" Cd player....
Damnit.
Up here in Canada its really hard to sue... hello boobytraps !
My favourite is razor blades on inside door handles... or fishhooks. Just keep a bottle of bleach on hand to disinfect the blood the perps leave behind. IF your feeling frisky chances are he will be sitting in the E.R. at the nearest hospital. go there and finish the job.

Pretty gruesome. Just pray you remember those boobytraps when your walking out of the bar with a few drinks in your system. ER here I come.
I hear ya cannibal but after replacing 6 draft windows in the last year an honest hard working man deserves some retrobution. Around my parts thieves have clued into breaking into fisherman's trucks. Courts give thieves a slap on the wrist.... cost of doing business for these perps. Ironically In BC you can be charged for impaired driving with any blood alc. content so I refrain for drinking and driving.
RCMP officers are frustrated as well. A good friend installed epoxied fish hooks under his stereo. When he came back he found the thief with his hand "stuck" in the act.
