Transfer Case Speed Sensor?
I'm having trouble figuring out if there's a seperate speed sensor in my transfer case. I have a '96 Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4. I've already replaced the one at the rear of the transmission, and my speedometer is still not 100% operational. There is no cable, it's electronic.
Thanks.
There is another "Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor" but that one is inside the tranny and does not affect the speedo in any case. Simialrly, there is no sensor in or on the transfer case that affects the speedo, either.
I suppose it's time to check the circuit. Trace the GY/BK wire, the VSS signal wire, which runs to the GEM, speedo, Cruise Control Servo, etc. The PK/O wire is ground. Maybe you have some resistence in the wires, or something like that, affecting the signal.
