need help

My 99 f 250 sd 4x4 batt light is flickering on every once in a while it stays on for about 5 sec then goes off. THE Gage stays up and my batt and alt check fine can any one help me with this problem

Time to get a new regulator.. Its cheap and easy to change. It controls the light..unless you have wiring problems! Do the reg first. Oh yea on edit change the brushes also..
