70 MPH Vibration 04 Eddie Cont SUV Tires
I took the new eddie(850 miles) into Ford this morning because at 70 mph the vehicule is vibrating. The service guy tried to tell me "I needed to put 2000 miles on the vehicule before they would spin them because they only do this once" ??? What gives ? Any recommendations ?

Check the board for other posts on this. The vibration is experienced by some and not others. I was told by former ford mechanic that it is the Conti tires, they are just not suited for the truck. Ford of course will not acknowledge this. I'm still trying myself to get them to replace the tires so I do not have to incur the expense, but may have to bite the bullet and spring for new tires. The general consensus is the Michelin LTX/MS or the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. Costco has the Revos pretty cheap, plus an Extra $80 bucks off for the next couple of weeks, which is a heck of a deal.

Mine seems to be fixed for now!
I just bought my 03 EB used about a month ago. It now has 15k on it. After reading about and experiencing first hand the brake squealing, brake dust and 70 mph vibration issues I took mine into the dealer today. I told them about the vibration and my squealing brakes. After driving the car they said the tires needed balancing and an alignment to fix the vibration which from what I've read is the same story a lot of dealers are giving. They also said they would replace the brake pads.
They replaced the pads and turned the left front rotor at N/C. I paid $192 to have them do the alignment and balance and something with the caster / camber, so my receipt says. I'm not much of a car guy so forgive me for not knowing but is the caster, camber part of the alignment process? They mentioned the caster when telling me what they wanted to do for $192 but I wasn't clear if that was in addition to the alignment or a standard part of doing an alignment. It is all one line item on my receipt.
<O
Anyway my point of posting this is all of the vibration is gone now if it is of any help to anyone. I took the long way home after picking the car up to try it out on the hwy and at 50, 60, 70 and 80 zero vibration on the Conties for now. I'll let you know if it returns in the weeks to come. <O</O
