I have a 99 F 350 Superduty SRW, 7.3 diesel and will be towing a 30' 5th wheel with a loaded weight of 13,800 lbs. The Rv clubs strongly suggest the addition of an exhaust brake.
Any experience with an exhaust brake such as US Gear or Pacbrake.
Ford is very vague on the warranty effects of adding any after market item.
I am not sure if there is an add on exh brake available for the t444e(PSD) motors. Although, if you can find someone who can program the existing one on your motor to work as a brake, then you may have something there. The EBP (on the turbo) blocks off the exh outlet from the turbo on cold starts to heat the cab quicker. I am not sure if it can be rigged in such a way.
I'd check with Navistar truck shops that use the same engine in larger trucks to see if they have it set up that way.

Thanks for the responce. I understand the Pacbrake is installed at the turbo, however the US Gear exhaust brake is installed downstream on the exhaust pipe. USG calls it a D-Celerator and their web site is www.usgear.com
I was watching Shadetree mechanic the other day and they put a Jacob's engine brake on a Dodge. If one is also made for the Ford, I say go for it instead. That's what has been installed on every rig I have ever driven and never had a problem yet. Good Luck.
I have just purchased a F-350 7.3 liter. When at the dealer they handed me an accessory book that had the Jacob exhaust brake in it. I would call your local delear.
