Staight Pipe Sound?

Has anyone heard what straight pipes would sound like on a 98 F150 with the cats? Please let me know what you think. I hope its louder than a glasspack. Thanks!

Here's a link I just saw on another thread. Sounds good to me. I have to figure out what to replace my exhaust with since one of the pipes just broke off right behind the mufflerwhen I hit a bump on the highway today. I'd get straight pipes but I travel long distances on the highway and am not sure if they'd get annoying. Good luck!

I have straight pipes on my '03 F150 with the 5.4L. I cut the Y pipe before it comes together and ran duals back from there. I also have Gibson shorty headers on. So all I have for restriction of sound is the stock cats, and lemme tell you, this truck is loud. It isn't so bad that it annoys me going down the highway for long periods of time, but that is mainly because at 65 I'm only pulling 1800 or so RPM and it isn't real loud at that speed. But once you get over 2000, that beast just screams. Seriously, if anyone is behind it, their ears start gushing blood, it's great.

you dont have straight pipes if you still have cats on there.

straight pipes means nothing but "straight pipes"

yes it will be much louder than a glasspack since the glasspack will restrict sound while nothing but pipes wont.

Sorry, I guess I meant duals, not straight pipes :P I was a little tired when I wrote that.
