It was too much drone in the cab for me. If it was a pick-up it would be tolerable but it just resonated through the cab of the SUV too much especially when towing and I just put the stock muffler back on.
I don't remember and don't have that truck anymore. Just get under there and measure the muffler and I would get 1' longer than the muffler to give some room for adjustment.
ill try and get a good video for you tomorrow, but here's one i took a while back. been wanting to take a good one for a while, just haven't gotten around to it as i don't drive it much.
mine has no cat or muffler. eventually i think i am going to put a muffler back on it, i like it at idle, but WOT it's way too raspy.
it's LOUD....i mean loud....very....very.....loud.
Keep at least a glasspack on it, trust us. It will NEVER have the sound of a V-8. If you get the Y-pipe it will sound better though!
agreed, i really want to put a nice muffler on it to make the tone sound nice again, and ill leave the cat off. i had it like that and i liked it like that the best, i took the muffler off to see how a true straight pipe would sound, and it's way too raspy when driving.
eventually i want an aftermarket Y pipe also, i've only read good things about them, so i'm curious to see how it changes the sound.
