Rumble after start

Rumble after start
After I start up my truck it begins to rumble. When I get ready to drive it start off rumbling also. It only stops after it shifts into the next gear. Well I decelerate it begins to rumble again. After I have driven about 3-5 miles its back to normal, a smooth ride. Im due for an oil change, could that be the problem? I have a 92 expo xlt 4x4.

Maybe I should give more info. Well, it all started when I parked on this incline at school. I was there for about 3 hrs or so. After I started my truck up it began to rumble bad. I found out that the rumbling occurs when my tranny shifts. I have to press all the way down on the pedal for my truck to shift into the next gear, somewhere between second to third. I've been burning alot of oil, I thought maybe Im getting some oil leakage on my pistons and its started to tear up my engine. Any ideas?
