am I safe?

My 98 F150 XL has the following on tag on the valve cover:
2-14-98
396 372 317
Essex Engine Windsor
8K703DA

Should I still worry about the gasket failures?
I have 95,000 miles on it

I have no clue what you are referring to. With 95K on the engine what gaskets are going to fail that already have not? What engine do you have?

the lower intake gasket and timing cover gasket that the 97 have problems with leaking antifreeze into the oil.

If I read the leakingfords.com correct, it said engines made thru january of 98.

I'd contact your local Ford dealer and give them the build date. They should be able to tell you.
