I have recently removed my throttle and cleaned the hell out of it
and the plenum the best I could also replaced the Iac and the Tps and
the Egr valve and an O2 sensor
Im going to do the plugs wires cap and rotor next but it still seems to have a
high idle around 700 and I use to idle at 450 and I thought that was normal
What should the propor idle when warm?
Normal idle is usually about 650RPM's on a 5.0. I think if mine would idle at 450, it would surge and die but I guess the 351 is that much different. 700 seems almost normal though. Call Ford, they will tell you the idle or either look in your Haynes manual. Even Chiltons would tell you.
Well I had all original stock parts from 90 on there so I figured it was time!
I replaced the Egr valve, Idle air controll,Throttle position sensor,Egr solonoid
and a full tune up (Plugs wires cap ect.) and all ran ok I guess...
I run around 650 to 700 rpm's when warm idle or in gear and all is smooth
for some reason I thought 700 was to high but I guess it's ok........
