I just replaced the heads and carb on my 351W in my 86 bronco w/C-6 tranny.
I am adjusting the carb (a new Edelbrock Performer 650) and need to know what you guys think the Idle should be.
I have adjusted the idle speed a bit and right now when it is in Park it Idles at about 1000 rpm. Then when I put it in gear it goes to about 600-650rpm. Is this a good speed?
Also, should there be that much of a difference in rpm when going from Park/nuetral to Drive?
i have an 84, same setup except i have a factory replacment carb, idle at park or nuetral is 1000 and in gear i idle at 800. 600 seems a little low to me, try setting the emergency brake and having some one hold the brake while in gear and adjusting the other idle screws on your carb.
