Vacuum pump?

Vacuum pump?
I have a 84 F250 diesel. The power brakes don't work and the tranny shifts hard. We replaced the brake booster but it didn't do anything. Isn't there a vacuum pump to run the brakes and the shift modulator? I'd really like to get it fixed before it gets too cold out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Vacuum pump?
The vacuum pump is located on the right side of the motor, direcly below the alternator. In fact there should be a belt from the alternator to the vacuum pump. Also check the bracket well, as they are common to break and cause the belt to fall off.
