Proper idle speed?
What's a 300 I-6 supposed to idle at?
Mine is idling at 900RPM and (I believe) causing me to pull solidly away from a stop without giving any gas on my C6-trannied '74...

I've played with the idle speed plenty over the years. A manual trans 83 with A/C off should be 600-650 I believe, but I set it at 700 when at full temperature. That way during initial startup it idles at 600 when cold, after the fast idle kicks off.
