Evans coolant sounds good to me too. I found the website after I read your remark.
How do you completly remove the water from you engine after you flush out the old? Or can you mix what little remains after draining and not worry about it?
You can't completely remove all traces of water, but it dosen't really matter.
Since the Evans doesn't use water there is no pressure in the system, so after the old coolant is drained and flushed (to include pulling the block drain plugs) and refilled with the evans, you drill a small hole in the radiator cap, that way whatever water remnants remain will quickly boil out of the system.
For the whole skinny, read this, paying close attention to the PSD instructions in the bottom two sections of the page.
i see you changed your avitar again....nice tailgate
Well, you know, it's hot down here in Phoenix and I promised my wife I'd sew her a new custom suit............hehehe.....sometimes I can be real handy.....
Smokeeater11... Yes you can change from a Green (SCA) needed coolant to the Gold type. I just completed the switch over last month... The down side however, was the near stage 2 burn I received on my right arm while performing my 6th (And you need to perform 8 of these) coolant "Block drain plug" removal. I performed 8 cycles of a distilled water drain and flush from the Rad and block... I reflection, its not worth the trouble!!! JMO Jeff in NM...OUT
Changed out my coolant last week in my 2001. The extended life sounded good and somebody on another web site with an inside source at ford said go for it, it is approved so I did. The next day I found an article on this site from an International field rep. stating that extended was only good for 2002 and up. If it came with green use the green. Everyone is well meaning but sometimes "a friend said" becomes a fact. Do your homework. If your truck goes south who ya gonna blame?
