replacing ball joints
I am going to replace all 4 ball joints on my 79 D44 front axle. i bought the Moog like everyone said and have the press from the local shop. Is there any other advise or things to watch out for. I do not think that I have outer axle seals to worry about, or should I be worried about the inner ones also?

The inner seals are all the way in by the center diff housing. On my Dana 60 front they are changed from inside the housing where the ring and pinion are. The ball joint replacement is pretty straight forward. You should have a pickle fork to seperate them, and a smaller pickle fork for the tie rod ends and a 4x4 hub socket too (the one with 4 nubs on the end of it). Spray any rusty stuff with WD40 the night before and work on one side at a time so you can tell how it goes back together if you have a bad memory like me. Have fun!
