I have a '99 Ford F-350 Crew Cab dually PSD. My Lumbar Support went out in my drivers seat. My question is can I have it fixed or do I need to buy another seat? It is hard driving without it since I'm so used to it. And if it can be fixed how long would it take them to fix it? I'm leaving for a week long trip July 3rd and would like it fixed by then if I could. Thanks in advance for the info.

I would try to find a used one in a junkyard if you can. Sometimes they will trade you for yours with an up cost. Fixing it may be more money than this option. They can be fixed though but I am not sure of the cost. I had one fixed in a car I owned a few years ago.
350 woman,
Your lumbar can be fixed. It broke on my 01 supercrew. You will probaly have to leave at dealer for a day or two. They have to take the seat cover off and replace the cable and mechanism. If I remember corectly the dealer sent the seat out to a vender and they did the work. I hope this helps. Good luck!
try a sacroease, its a seat thingy that is shaped to add support to your lumbar. I bought one from Relax the Back store. You can find them on Ebay. I have a pinched sciatic nerve and cant drive without one.
I saved this from another thread. My 99 also broke but I have not had time to fix it.
"My lumbar support broke about a year after I bought the truck. I took the **** apart and everthing was OK. Then I pulled the seat back off. The seat back is held on by plastic push pins and just pops off. I had to maneuver it a little to get it off. The lumbar support is basically a flexible metal plate with the cable attached top and bottom. When you turn the ****, the cable pulls the top and bottom of the flex plate toward on another causing the plate to bend.
The cable attaches to the bottom of this plate with a flimsy metal tab. The tab on mine broke so that the cable was no longer attached to the bottom of the plate. If this is your problem, I have a fairly easy fix that is far more durable than Ford's flex plate design.
Convieniently there is a small hole in the base of the flexible plate. I simpy bought a small eyebolt at Lowes and used it to attach the cable to the base of the flex plate. The eye bolt I used has a 1/2 in hole and 3/4 in thread I think it is a 10-32 thread pitch. If I remember correctly I removed the cable from the top of the flex plate threaded it through the ey of the eyebolt and reattached it. The fix cost me about 25 cents for the eyebolt and a couple of nylon nuts one top and bottom. Took about 10 minutes.
If this is your problem, I could pull the seat back off of mine again and tell you exactly how I fixed it."
