I want to improve airflow through my V10 ('99 F350 SD) and at the same time improve performance. I have been using the K&N filter which allows more air in, what exhaust system matches up well with a higher flow air filter like the K&N? What size pipes? Cat back or manifold back? I do a lot of hunting so I don't need it to "sound cool" or "growl". I just want my V10 airpump to pump most efficiently.
This wont help you much now but today I seen a superduty V-10 with a dual exhaust with chrome tips out the side. Man that thing sure did sound sweet. It would be the sound I was looking for if I was doing my exhaust. It had a big block growl thats hard to get out of a V-10 yet wasnt too loud either. I dint catch the guy to talk to him but Ive seen that truck before. If I catch him I will let you know what he got. Those chrome tips out the side looked awesome. Thats the way mine would be if I was doing it. Ill get back to you. Later
Does your Cat Back have the Flowmaster 70 muffler? If so does it have some tone to it. I am looking at one but I want it to be louder than stock. Thanks.
But see Rob, I don't want animals to know I'm there when I'm trying to "troll for Elk or Deer. It's been suggested to keep everything stock except for the muffeler, and go with a higher flow like Flowmaster. That the stock pipes are pretty large already.
I was in the same boat. My original intent was do just replace the muffler. Alot of exhaust shops in this area cannot bend 3 inch pipe. With the estimated cost of labor and the price of just the flowmaster, it was more cost effective to get the catback kit.
No "CATS". Can you do that? 40 vs. 70?
Dumn ??: Is the Flowmaster system one that I can put in. Loooks like it comes with all parts and hangers needed. Any welding?

Reason: Added thought.
The 70 series catback was a 30 minute install max.. However, I found out that I needed to weld the slip collar where it attaches to the stock cat and the muffler together. I kept blowing it off under heavy throttle.
Well my buddy had his taken to a shop and had it done it is one mean V10 f350 with a 8 in suspesion lift and 4 in body it is bad. also has 38.5x16 super swamper boggers on his truck.
I went with a 40 series FM on mine. I like it, kind of a different sound to it though. In about six months when I buy my new camp trailer I will get a Banks Power pack. Can't wiat for the power pack!
