Brake Controller Install on 99 Eddie Bauer Explorer

I'm trying to install a Prodigy brake controller (w/Ford harness) on my 99 Eddie Bauer Explorer w/towing package (4-pin on back). I've searched the forums and everything I've found indicates that I should find the controller plug either behind the glove box or under the dash on either side. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the plug anywhere! Anyone have any info/ideas on where I might find the controller plugin or if the plug-in even exists in a 99 EB Explorer w/tow package?

Thanks for any help!

David

I don't think it exists, otherwise you'd have a round 7-pin RV connector by the hitch (2" I assume) instead of the flat 4-pin. Your 4-pin only handles trailer lights and ground, so you'll have to run wires from the Prodigy to the back and replace that 4-pin. You can use the Prodigy harness or cut off the Ford end and use that, just make sure you use at least 14 gauge wire (12's even better). You'll also need a 20 or 30 amp auto-reset circuit breaker (depending on the # of trailer brakes) installed in the hot lead from the battery to the Prodigy. Good luck!
