Installed 9007 Silverstars on my clouded '99 headlights just two days ago. Put in the driver's side first to see the difference and was glad I paid a little extra versus stock lamp. Brighter and better lamp
I have the silverstars in the headlights and fog lights...big difference over stock. Also wired up the fogs to come on with the high beams...big difference as well
do they make one for the fog lights of a 04 with the 9145 bulb?
thats odd, when i put them in my fogs i thought the factory bulb # was 9145 for the fogs(maybe i got that # out of the auto parts store's book) . when i posted in this thread i wanted to make sure i had the right # so i pulled out my manual and it said it was an 899.so what you need to do is pull one of the bulbs out of you fog lights, bring it in to the auto parts store and match it up to a 9005(you will be able to tell if it is the same, that is how i figured out a 9005 would fit)
hey - how do you get the fog lights to work with the high-beams?? I find myself not using the high-beams as much as I would 'cause it makes the fog lights go out. I love all the light you get with both on, and am gonna get the Silverstars for both, but I would definitely be interested in the high-beam + fog light action!
I'll look tommorow and let you know what wire it is. It involves grounding out one wire and thats it. Gotta check the wire color and and what relay its on
it's the #2 and #12 wires you need to jump, #12 is a solid drk brwn wire, and #2 is a white/black striped wire, jump these two wires and mod the switch and your done!
The mod to the switch he is talking about is the physical change to the switch to allow the fog lights to be turned on when only the parking lights are on.

Here is an excellent link on how to get the fogs to stay on with the high beams. Foglight fix
In a nut shell Ford figures the fogs should go off with the high beams. Some states actually require this. Ford grounds the fog lights through the high beam indicator. When you turn on the fogs, the ground goes away and the fogs turn off. Permently ground the foglight relay somewhere else and the problem is solved!
I have a 04 psd cc and have the silverstar 9007's in the headlights and 9005's in the Fog's. Got them at wall mart for around $40 a pair,, The fogs where a pain to put in,, I could not fit my hands in from underneath. if I didn't have a front licence plate seems it would have been easier,, I ended up taking my grill off to change the fog light bulbs which made it easier to replace them,, The mod in the last post is that for 03 and older as my 04 fog lights work with the parking lights but I did that mod on my friends 03 lighting,, but I beleive still go off with the high beams,, but will work now with the parking lights on only,,
