looking at putting a 302 in my b2 has any one done it? i'm wondering about the bolt pattern on the stock tranny, manifold clearance, rad clearance problems motor mounts etc. appreciate any help i can get . thanks
Alot of people are putting 5.0's in the little rangers I would'nt think it would be much different. I don't think your transmission is going to bolt up and if it did I doubt it would last long anyway with the added torque. You will probably end up upgrading your rear end also.
Do a search on the net for Ranger station or other ranger forums.

A friend of mine had a fuel injected 302 in his little 4x4 Bronco. I think he said the parts came from Advanced Adapter.
I'm looking to swap motors in my '86 Bronco II and I was pondering about which motor to put in. 302, for the added horsepower, or 4.0, because it would fit without as much under the hood modifications? Also, if I go with the 302, do I have to have as much stuff from the donor vehicle as you do with the 4.0? From what I'm hearing the 4.0 would be the better choice because of the bolt up and the tranny and rearend will hold up better. Less work is better for me. I'm just wanting to get away from the dog 2.9. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Reason: needed title
Advance adapters has a great setup for it... compact radiator, engine mounts, headers, and bell housings to bolt up the 302 to your stock 5 speed if you wanted to go that route. They recommend a 2" body lift for clearance, otherwise you have to notch the heater box for the valve cover on the pass side. No hood modifications are required that I know of.
I have a 3" body lift and I do have a 5-speed tranny. Will the tranny hold up to a v8 swap and what other items from the donor vehicle do I have to get? Does the 3" lift negate heater box mods? Does Advance Adapters setups come with precise instructions or do they leave you hanging scratching your head?
thanks, I've so many different ideas but every time I measure it up it doesn't work out.I was evn considering getting a full size from mt buddy and doing a complete swap but his truck has a 351 (i'd like to keep the fuel economy in line if at all possible).Thi info is a big help cause i have a c4 and i was told it wouldn't stand up. i'm glad to see it will cause i just had a bunch of work done to it. thanks again for the pages glad to see i'm on the right track.
