Well I am not with the truck right now. Im at work and my wife called to say the truck was looking low after she got a load of top soil which she said was 1 yard. The guy said to her that it was a "ton"
I had 5000 lbs of #8 stone in my 99 350 CC long bed. Now that was riding low.
I broke one of the leaves in the rear left much later on. My work truck spent its life loaded. Just traded for an 04 X, I'll try to be a little nicer to it.
A cubic yard of soil can go from 2K-4K depending on density and moisture content. I've put over 4000lbs. in mine with the airbags and 19.5" wheels. With a regular cab, standard tires, and 2wd, you should be able to go 2500-3K easy. See if the overload springs are touching in the back. It takes about 3500 lbs to make mine touch.
