Well, ive decided that I need a tool box. Im set on buying a chest and cart. The cart HAS to have a wide, deep top drawer and All drawers have to have ball bearings.
To that end, what kind of tool storage does everyone have and who has what to say about the Waterloo brand.
This is what im serously considering. http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/wattrx4118csbk.html
My son is selling his Matco tool box...Almost 5' wide x almost 4' high x 2' deep. It's a limited edition Matco Monster III with Big Daddy Ed Roth graphics.
If you're interested, shoot me an Email. MROLDV8@aol.com
He's in rehab, and will need the money when he gets out, so he asked me to try to sell it for him. The box is beautiful. Its Cad Yellow, and weighs about 500 lbs.
mroldv8, is the box a top and bottom or is it just the bottom? Do you have any pictures of it or maybe a link to something like it?
It's a bottom box, with large casters. It has a removable textured work surface on top. I don't know how to post pictures, but I can fax you a picture if you like. If somebody could walk me through it, I do have digital pictures. If I save them to a file on my computer...what do I do next to post them? There's a lot about computer basics that I don't know. I wish I could buy it myself...if my business was doing better, I would. I have a small Sears top and bottom box with a small side box on the top and a large SnapOn box hanging off of the side of the bottom. The thing looks like its gonna tip over. Compared to the Sears, this Matco is built like a Mercedes.
Because Big Daddy died recently, anything related to him is now worth more. My son is going to lose money on the box big-time, because he's stuck and will need money when he gets out. He's a body-man, and will just have to make-do when the time comes. I have all his tools stored at my house in those plastic parts boxes. He'll have to work out of those until he gets back on his feet again.
MrOldV8, I hate to hear about your son's situation, that must really suck for him. That tool chest sounds VERY cool and if I had the money I'd be all over that. Big Daddy Roth is obviously a HUGE hot rod legend and I'm sure the box looks cool. Go to www.Photobucket.com and register for a free account. It should be fairly simple to get your pics up for all of us to enjoy.
the other box i would consider is this international box http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/itbcr85477prfg.html
it comes with a free side storage box. Seems like it doesnt have enough drawers on the top box though. Ive seen someone who has the same box, but made by ATD and it looked prety good.
The waterloo box comes with a free creaper seat.
I have been looking at the big (40 in. wide) black Kolbalt cabs at Lowes. In comparison of price / quality, I would buy the Kobalt over Craftsman. just mo,
Man, almost $13k for a toolbox? For that price does this toolbox actually do the work for you? Lol. I remember the days when a simple toolbox was all you needed. I'd spend about a thousand on one, but that's about it. Even that's a lot of money. I do admit, I'm a cheapskate, but $13k is quite a bit for a toolbox.
