I just picked up a used 2003 f250 and when I got home, I tried the CD player, only to find out there is already a CD in it. It wont play or eject.
Any ideas whats up with this? Dealer said they would replace the unit, but Im still curious as to what is wrong so I can avoid doing it myself in the future.
Mine would get jammed up only if I put homemade cd's with a label on them. Ford had a service bulletin out quite sometime ago relating to this. You can use homemade cd's, just don't apply any type of label. Just use a marker to identify cd
It may be a cd with an adhesive label on it. I've seen a bunch of these get stuck in slot loading cd players. The heat inside loosens the adhesive on the label, allowing it to shift. This can cause the cd to get stuck. If you burn your own audio cd's, don't use a label. Just write on it with a ccd compatible marker.
Let Ford deal with it. If you try a fix and have to take it to the dealer anyway, they might say you caused the problem and not repair it under warranty.
I was able to clear out mine but it was a pain in the . Is yours a indash six pack or single? It takes a lot of patience. You may be better off lettinr the stealership deal with it since you just bought the truck and they're aware of the problem.
Its the single indash player........I think I will let the dealer handle it, I dont want to be blamed for the problem because I tried to clear it myself.
