I am a new ford truck owner. I think I have a thin (worn) pressure plate in my clutch. It just seems to grab all at once. Anyway just curious when I replace it if I should go with "Ford" brand parts or what. I figure I might as well replace the whole system (120,000) other than the flywheel while I'm in there.
I can't seem to find a "kit" by ford so I would have to by each part. cost about $340.00 or I found a kit @ Parts America for about $150.00 with a 1 year warrantee. The price difference has me a little concerned that the later price would indicate "cheap" parts.
So, what do you "Pros" recommend. I know I don't want to do this again.
The clutch on a '94 is hydraulic and non-adjustable.
Personally, I would go with a centerforce or luc kit. I think they're a little better than the motorcraft clutches. Yes, I know, there are lots of people with motorcraft clutches and they're perfectly happy. It's just my opinion that the aftermarket kits are a little better.
