It should. The 'bite' in CocaCola comes from phosphoric acid. The very same stuff used in higher concentration in 'Naval Jelly'.
CocaCola used to contain even more interesting ingredients in the days before the 'Pure Food and Drug' act. It was advertised as a 'Nerve Tonic' and contained Coca leaf extract.
