Well haha cool, have to look you up this next school year....if I can manage it I am going to try and start up at la tech this year, if I can guarantee having enough money ot pay for bills.....if not I will be back in Gonzales/P'ville for a year (10 minutes south of BR)
Around here (western ny) it seems every third vehicle is a dodge truck...but when you talk to people as to why they went Dodge, most said because of the deal and financing they got. Ask a Ford guy why he bought a Ford and money will seldom come up....
Ok. Be honest now. How many "old" Dodges do you see around? I don't remember seeing any for quite a while. I see alot of older Fords around though. And I'm not just talking '80's models, I'm talking older than that. That should say alot for Ford Trucks!!!!!
Anyway you look at it, those Durango's are just plain ugly! Worst looking "fullsize SUV" out there! Dodge is trying to sow silk from a sows ear with the Durango. I wouldn't want to be caught driving one.
My my only complaint about the ford truck is that they have no legg room as compaired to the dodge's leg roomI am about 6'3" and 400 lbs and have owned several ford trucks and and an dodge ramcharger 84 and an 69 charger and cuda with an 440 magnum I looked at the mustangs and I could not fit comfortable behind the steering wheel. Never had no complaints with ford trucks about any thing else though.
well Weldingfreak, i can relate to the height thing as im 6'5" 295lbs not the overweight type but just plain big...trucks and cars were built to fit people of the "normal" size or what they think is "normal" the average size is like 5'9" 160lbs or something like that but in my f-150 i have plenty of leg room in fact if i scoot the seat all the way back its hard to use the pedals. now the new mustangs however i will agree with ya there...lol those things were built for women and small men
So true bigdmizer! Even my girlfriend who could care less about cars/trucks admitted that its one of the ugliest suv's she has seen. She said it looks like mini van so now I just call the durangos the new dodge minivans. weldingfreak- I beleive the next gen mustang will have more leg room and will have a somewhat larger interior. If I didnt need a truck, thats what I would want!
[QOUTE] I live in Baton Rouge. I am here getting my mech engineering degree at LSU [QOUTE]
Hye, I was there in 98, wish I had stayed there instead of transfering really do miss it especially all the woman .
[QOUTE] if not I will be back in Gonzales/P'ville for a year [QOUTE]
I lived in prairieville/ st. gabrial area until I got married, parents still live there tho.
Small world after all aint it.
Back to topic, dodge's suspension and drivetrain just plain sucks and they do not hold up as well as ford or chevy bottom line so to speak. Thier comparison to explorer is just plain stuped and shows how desperate they really are.
I do not mean to keep the debate going longer but I can say id that the Durango is baseed off the dakota then the full sized trucks I have one setting in my yard right know I an changing the brakes in it. same size width as the dokota. It is a dakota with a shell and seats in the back. As far as the new mustangs are concerned My dad had a 99 mustang and I could barrley get in it , Hard to shift knees hitt the steering wheel

This is not a debate. This is a bunch of Ford guys on a Ford forum bashing Dodge - and that's to be expected. Myself, I prefer Fords, but my point that others make a good product is supported by research. Chebby advertises "longest lasting, most dependable", they base that on registrations from 1981 to 1998. This year's J.D. Powers Initial Quality shows the Toy Tacoma 1st and the Ford F150 2'nd in light duty class. In the heavy duty class Dodge Ram was 1'st and GMC Sierra was 2'nd. Powers devided trucks into seven classes and Toy won all but full size SUV which the Expedition won. The new 150 shows that Ford is on the right track (my son just bought an '04 Supercrew Lariat), but "best will always be a subjective term.
Dono
I wouldnt call it "bashing", dono, more like "constructive criticism". Dodge has a ugly product so we are just helping them out with our honest opinions.
