I'll admit that I don't really know what I'm talking about, but could there be any chance the front shock abosrobers are involved? You seemed to have checked everything else.
I have heard that bad shocks can cause this, but mine are heavy duty pro comp shocks and are only three weeks old. If your shocks are old I would replace them. It couldn't hurt. My track bar bushings are cracked, but are tight. I removed each end of it and shook it around. It doesn't have much play. I have considered replacing them though. I drove around today about 50 miles and still no death wobble. I still had the occasional shake but no death wobble. I just finished welding the braket on and added both shocks and it now drives like a charm. I only drove ten miles or so but I could not make it shake or give any signs of wanting to wobble.
This may be a dumb idea, but maybe not. It would be a lot of work, but if nothing else solves the problem this may help. Can you take all the lift and traction bars and etc. off if it is not stock equipment? and put the mfg recommended tires on, basically return it to a factory stock truck, then try driving it at the speeds you mention where the death wobble starts?? I have never had any type of problem like yours, but did you buy the truck as a stock truck and modify it? or was it like that when you bought it? Somebody may have sold you a lemon, with a problem in the frame or something else very serious. just my .02 worth.
I put the lift on myself. It did not do it before the lift or addition of large tires. I think the problem is related to changes made to the steering geometry and the oversized tires just magnify it.
No my front shocks are a month old too. my truck didnt do this stock either, and i lifted it, and it was ok for about a yr. now the death wobble. i just dont know, good luck with the stabilizers, give me an update on how theyare doing. dang, i was hoping that they were real bad, i dont know i was told that that bar or the bracket the bar hooks too could cause the death wobble. ill have to research it a littlemore, thanks
With the dual stabilizers it is great. I drove probably 125 miles today and no sign of the death wobble. The shimmy and shake are gone as well. I am driving a new truck now! I just hope it doesn't come back, but I have a feeling it is fixed now.
