what is this part??

i was cleaning the intake maniford of wasps nests when i decided to take everything off and clean it all. there were two bolts holding this peice on right next to the carb on the left of my 351m. there was a coil piece on the inside which stuck into the manifold and two pieces that were connected to hoses. i don't remember what the hoses go to cuz im at wok right now. i accidentally bent one of the pieces to where it cracked. at pep boys they didn't have a replacement nor tell me what the piece was or where to get it (go figure) i bought some jb weld and put it back on. any help as always is appreciated
where can i buy this piece and how much should i expect to spend. i know someones going to tell me to go to the boneyard, but i don't have time for that with work and school and being a daddy. Thanx again- Matt

biggreen78,

That is the choke heater. if you have electric choke keep it, if you have a manual choke, there is a block off plate available for that.

Hope this will help.

if i were to buy a new intake maniford, then will i retain this piece or would the new unit come with it??

i was considering the weiand 8180 or the edelbrock performer. both are dual plane i am also going to be getting the edlebrock performer 600cfm carb, and im pretty sure it will work with both of these sound about right??

The flat piece with coiled tubing is the heat exchanger for the choke's hot air system. You can get it from a Ford dealer for about $15. The part number is D5AZ-9C869-A.

It will work with the aftermarket intake manifolds, but it is not supplied with those manifolds.
